Garis Architects were founded in 1991 through the collaboration of several practicing professional firms encompassing disciplines in architecture, planning, project management and interiors. The firm’s principle objective is to fulfill the client’s development needs by producing outstanding buildings and property developments where exceptional design, innovation and management yield successful and higher commercial values

The directors bring together decades of complementary skills and experience in Malaysia and overseas. Projects undertaken previously by the directors have received awards and competition prizes, as well as establish new benchmarks of excellence and directions of future developments.

The firm provides comprehensive and integrated consulting services from conceptual design, master planning & urban design, feasibility studies, coordinating environmental studies, building design, interior design, contract administration and project management. The directors are personally involved in designing and managing each project working closely alongside the office team who are committed and dedicated to delivering prompt and exceptional results.

Master Planning & Urban Design

In keeping with the overall philosophy of the practice, Town Planning and Urban Design are considered an essential service in maximising sustainable development. The aim is to provide a development solution which is both aesthetically enriching and economically rational.

The firm initiates a detailed analysis of the client’s needs leading to the establishment of the planning context. Issues such as the physical, visual, social and historical attributes of the site are addressed to formulate design concepts, development options and solutions.

The complexity of projects and the urban environment often dictates adoption of a multi-disciplinary approach. The planning consultants of GARIS Architects Sdn Bhd have extensive experience in management of planning projects and are able to work in close association with supporting professional groups specializing in engineering, landscaping, surveying, environment sciences, marketing, transport, finance and law. Similarly, maintenance of design concepts and integrity requires participation of all professional team members and client group throughout the execution of the project.

The scope of services offered includes preparing and reviewing urban structure plans, producing conceptual and detailed development plans undertaking site assessment and feasibility studies, developing design and sitting guidelines, contributing to environmental impact statements and presenting expert testimony in planning appeals.
